Hermit Thrush

Semi-regular at my feeders this winter, first time I've ever had regular visits from any spotted thrush, although I had seen one as an incidental sighting on Feb. 4, 2019 near my large magnolias. I have grown quite fond of this winter's Hermit Thrush and consider it to be somewhat of a spirit animal. There is ample coverage (approx. 2 decades worth of tree/shrub growth) on my east property line for the Thrush to take cover when it is not feeding. As of 27th Feb. 2022, I have seen this Hermit Thrush 23 times since 23rd Dec., 2021. I believe this bird to be from the auduboni group of the Interior West, as its flanks are grayish/paler rather than the buffy look of the Taiga group illustrated by Sibley in 2nd Ed. Also, it is less densely spotted, and the wing length to tail length looks right from studying various photos I have taken. Other more experienced birders I have discussed this with agreed with my ID.
