Mystery Gull

Derb Carter photographed this gull on 1 Mar 2008 at the Durant Rd landfill in Raleigh, North Carolina. It's presumably the same bird photographed by Ricky Davis the day before. The top photo provides a size comparison with Ring-billed Gulls. In the bottom photo, mantle color can be compared with the two sleeping Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
